LUCENTUM #4: This is the End...

After fierce fighting, the KRA'VAK were down to an unexplored area of the planet. They are, curiously, trying to drill mines. They actually seek to discover ancient artifacts: the Titans (Golgoth in Kra'Vak language). It's the last assault. The HELLJUMPERS have mustered their walkers.

The KRA'VAK have two squads of line troopers (Hishen QRS) and one squad of Garn (Grath QRS). They are supported by two Titans, one of them is offline for 1d3+1 turns.

The HELLJUMPERS have two squads of line troopers (Star Army QRS), four Hammer Light Battle Armors and Two Destrier Medium Battle Armor. One Fulcrum Medium Battle Armor will arrive as reinforcement later.

I plan to make available for download all the troop cards (Helljumpers & Kra'Vak).

The Helljumpers can call a Bombing Run (Taken versus Leader's REP in LOS):

Since the Helljumpers are fighting Gigantic opponents I made changes in the Penetration Table in order to take into account the size of the vehicle. You can download the new Table on my 5150:SA page.

THE BATTLE
We fought the battle on a 180x120cm table with 12 sections.

I have confidence in the power of my titans. So I don't wait for the second to be ready and I move Titan 1 forward.
Titan 2 is offline. 

A bad idea, because he was hit by a Destrier's lucky shot.
The Titan is immobilized!
Helljumpers are advancing and the second Titan is quickly fully functionnal.

The Destriers try to fire again...
Titan 2' s weapons are now in range. A Destrier is obliterated. 



But the high mobility of the Helljumpers' walkers allows them to attack on the side.


The Titan is hit twice. Its weapons are destroyed.
The Fulcrum gives the "coup de grâce".
The Kra'Vak are fleeing.

AFTER THE BATTLE
The Helljumpers act as a free company but are in fact a cover regiment for Star Army Black Ops. So, after the battle, Star Army heavy freighters landed to recover all the hidden weapons.

KRA'VAK POWER!

The Alien Studies Institute (ASI) located in Gaea Prime used to think that the KRA'VAK were a clone race like the Hishen (5150:SA, p.75). Recent studies showed that they are saurians.
Because of their very advanced weapons and starships the Kra'Vak seem to have been a very powerful civilization. Their planet is still unknown. The powerful GARN are their allies.
They launches frequent pirate raids on an uncontrolled area of space (the Fourth Ring).

LUCENTUM #3 (5150:SA Campaign)

Après la victoire de l'épisode précédent (Lucentum #2), les Helljumper poursuivent leur avance. Les Kravak organisent une contre-attaque.

After the victory of the previous episode (Lucentum #2), the Helljumper continue their advance. The Kravak organize a counter attack.

 Cette partie est jouée chez Christophe. Je joue les Kravak. Chacun déploie 5 PEF et les fait entrer sur le champ de bataille.

This game is played with Christophe. I play the Kravak. Each deploys five PEF.



Les Helljumper disposent de 2 squads (avec 2 Genade Lauchers par squad), de deux HBTA d’un Missile Launcher (les caractéristiques sont dans le précédent compte-rendu).
Les Kravak avancent avec deux squads (Hishen QRS, REP 4) et un anti-grav léger (REP 4 - Armor = HB - Beam Medium - antigrav 24/18).

The Helljumper have two squads (with two Genade Lauchers / squad), two HBTA and a Missile Launcher (the features are in the previous report).
The Kravak (Hishen QRS, REP 4) have also two squad (Grenade Laucher/MMG) and a light vehicle (REP 4 - Armor = HB - Beam Medium - antigrav 24/18).



Je me concentre sur mon flanc gauche (plus de couverts disponibles) mais mon avance ralentit du fait de la menace de ses grenade launchers.

I attack on the left flank (with more covers) but my advance is slowing because of the threat of its grenade launchers.


Son lance missile immobilise mon char (mal déployé), puis le détruit au tir suivant.

Its missile launcher immobilizes my AFV (badly deployed). The next shot destroys it.



Sans appui blindé mes troupes ne peuvent rien contre ses Heavy Battle Armor et sont mises en fuite.

Without armor support my troops can do nothing against his Heavy Battle Armor l and are routed.

LUCENTUM #2 (5150:SA Campaign)

Après un premier accrochage sérieux (voir Lucentum #1) les Helljumper reviennent en force pour déloger les Kravak du secteur. Ces derniers défendent une ancienne raffinerie de la compagnie Nordstrom Combinat.

After a first serious clash (see Lucentum #1) the Helljumper return in force to dislodge the Kravak from the sector. These defend a former refinery of Nordstrom Combinat (the company hiring the Helljumper).

Les forces kravak (Hishen QRS, HB, Vicious) sont déterminées par le système de jeu.
Les Helljumper passent à l’attaque avec deux squads puissamment soutenus notamment par une Heavy Battle Tactical Armor (Light Vehicle).

Le premier PEF se révèle être un squad de Kravak. Des drones ennemis sont ensuite repérés (resolving PEF p.52 / Hishen Reinforcements p.60 = Vehicle / Hishen Vehicle Type p. 32 = APC changed to 3 drones - SB - HMG - antigrav 24).

The first PEF is proving to be a Kravak squad. Enemy drones are then identified (resolving PEF p.52 / Hishen Reinforcements p.60 = Vehicle / Hishen Vehicle Type p. 32 = APC changed to 3 drones - SB - HMG - antigrav 24).

Deux drones sont vite éliminés par la Heavy BTA.

Les Helljumper bénéficient de renforts sous la forme d’un bombardement tactique (Star Army Reinforcements p.60) qui élimine un squad entier !

The Helljumper receive reinforcements: a tactical bombing (Star Army Reinforcements p.60) which eliminates an entire squad!




Les Kravak pris à revers sont massacrés. Le lance missile détruit le dernier drone après s’être déployé furtivement (Hasty Setup p.21).

The Kravak taken from behind were slaughtered. The missile launcher destroys the last drone after an hasty and stealthy setup (Hasty Setup p.21).



C’est une victoire sans appel.
Les Kravak laissent trois drones et 16 des leurs sur le terrain. Les Helljumper ne déplorent qu’un mort et un blessé.

CAMPAIGN MORAL
Le moral des protagonistes reste inchangé (p.48).

Victory!
The Kravak leave three drones and 16 of them on the ground. The Helljumper have a dead and a wounded.

LUCENTUM, a 5150:SA campaign


Une race de clones (comme les Hishen), les Kravak (Hishen QRS, HB, Vicious) lance fréquemment des raids pirates sur une région encore peu contrôlée de l’espace (le Fourth Ring). Cette région sans lois est pleine d’opportunités pour les corporations désireuses de faire des profits rapides par l’exploitation sans retenue de planètes isolées.
C’est le cas de la planète Lucentum. exploitée par le Nordstrom Combinat. Le conseil d’administration du Combinat a fait appel aux Helljumpers (QRS et équipement Star Army)pour sécuriser la planète où les Kravak semblent s’installer (contrairement à leur habitude).
A clone race (such as Hishen), the Kravak, launches frequent pirate raids on an uncontrolled area of space (the Fourth Ring). This lawless area is full of opportunities for corporations wishing to make quick profits by the unbridled exploitation of remote planets.
This is the case of planet Lucentum colonized by Nordstrom Combinat. The board of directors of the company called a free company, the Helljumpers (Star Army QRS and equipment), to secure the planet where Kravak seem to settle (wich is unusual).

TACTICAL MAP



Le Lt Tommer doit effectuer une mission de reconnaissance (Patrol) sur un puits de mine abandonné.
Le squad (REP 4) du Lt Tommer (REP 5) se sépare en deux fire teams. Les soldats protégés par une armure tactique (HB) sont armés de fusil laser avec l’appui d’un lance grenade (GL) pour chaque fire team. 

Lt Tommer must perform a reconnaissance mission (Patrol) on a abandoned mine shaft.
The squad (REP 4) of Lt. Tommer (REP 5) separates into two fire teams. The soldiers protected by tactical armor (HB) are armed with laser gun with the help of a grenade launcher (GL) for each fire team.

Les soldats avancent vers les rochers. Un nouveau PEF (n°4) apparaît (en zone 4) et se révèle être un squad de Kravak. L’échange de tir fait un OOF chez les Helljumper et 3 OOF/OD pour les Kravak (tir de lance grenade) qui se mettent à couvert (Duck Back).

The soldiers are advancing toward the rocks. A new PEF (No. 4) appears (in area 4) and proves to be a squad of Kravak. The firefight results one OOF for the Helljumper and 3 OOF/OD for the Kravak (grenade launcher shot) who take cover (Duck Back).

Les Helljumper se mettent à couvert derrière les rochers. Les Kravak se révèlent être très nombreux après la révélation des PEF (un peloton + un squad). Les Helljumper ont du mal à contenir l’avance ennemie (étant outgunned sauf pour les GL). 


The Helljumper take cover behind the rocks. The Kravak turn out to be many after the revelation of the PEF (a platoon and a squad). The Helljumper are struggling to contain the enemy advance (being outgunned except for GL).

Un squad d’Helljumper arrive en renfort permettant de repousser l’avance des Kravak, de rassembler les blessés et de se replier.


A squad of Helljumper arrive as reinforcements to repel the Kravak advance, collect the wounded and to withdraw.




Bilan :
17 OD/OOF chez les Kravak contre 4 OD pour les Helljumper (dont le lt Tommer).
Le moral des Kravak augmente de 1.
Les Helljumper se préparent à revenir en force.
