Flint and Fur Stories #2 (Looking for Food)

After setting a new camp, Tounga's clan has to look for food. It's the second adventure of my Flint and Fur Campaign played with the Adventures in the Lost Lands rules.

The Encounter Rating is still 3 ; I play a Gathering scenario (AitLL, p.50) as the second scenario of the month. I generated the board by the rule (p.40).

Three PEF are on the board (one per ER point). PEF Resolution is with the Lost World chart (p.44).

Tounga and his clan are arriving by the south edge. Tounga and Rahan are carrying their weapon, not the others (if carrying a weapon you cannot gather or carry any food).

Rahan and Tounga are closing to the PEF.

The PEF is revealed. It's four cavemen (2 hunters and 2 female villagers).

It's time to Meet and Greet (p.55). It's a success. They join the clan. They are fleeing the Enemy too.

After that the four men start to explore the board while the women and children gather food.

20 food units are found. The mission is a success. I roll for improving characters' REP (AitLL, p.56).

Flint and Fur stories #1 (A New Home)

Tounga's clan is fleeing their previous camp pillaged by the Enemy. They are looking for a new home. In this first adventure (with the Adventures in the Lost Lands rules) the clan has to explore the map to find a spot with water.

The Encounter Rating is 3 ; so I have to play one scenario per point of ER per month (AitLL, p.53). The first scenario is a Conquer scenario (p.51).

Each character bring only one food unit (since they are fleeing the Enemy…).

THE CLAN

Fortunately there is water on the board. I generated the board by the rule (AitLL, p.40).

THE BOARD
Three PEF are on the board (one per ER point). PEF Resolution is with the Lost World chart (p.44).

Tounga and his clan are arriving by the south west edge.

Quickly a PEF comes into view: medium feeders. The clan is safe for the moment.

An other PEF comes into view: a large feeder.

Since there is no threat Tounga and Rahan are advancing toward the last PEF.

The last PEF was a false alarm. It's time to see the beast closer...

After a few days a new camp is set.

Two happy families...
Since all the board was explored the mission is a success. I roll for improving characters' REP (AitLL, p.56).

Dino Safari with Adventures in the Lost Lands

The famous adventurer, Frank Mulligan, has discovered by chance a forgotten valley populated by dinosaurs in the mysterious continent of Lemuria. Back in the United States, Mulligan has organized a dino safari for wealthy hunters... After having landed near Mission St Mary they headed to the valley...
I played this game with Adventures in the Lost Lands (AitLL). It's THE HUNT scenario (AitLL, p. 49).

Franck Mulligan
Mulligan, Mercier, Ferguson, York, Nolan, Haas, FitzPatrick

Since the Encounter Rating is 3 (AitLL, p. 42), three Possible Enemy Forces (PEF) are generated.

The hunters advance cautiously toward the PEFs.

Sir Edward Nolan (on the left on the picture above) has a line of sight with PEF1: it's a size 4 ferocious dinosaur, a Dilophosaurus (REP4, Melee8, Move16)!

The Dilophosaurus sees Nolan and fast moves to him. Doing this, it crosses the hunters' line of sight...

It took six shots (with both active and reaction fires) to kill it! The kill is for William Ferguson (second from the left).

The hunters advance toward the other PEFs with Sir Edward Nolan on the left side (bottom of the picture below).

Sir Edward Nolan, again, discovered a dinosaur: a size 6 feeder, a Triceratops!

Wanting also a kill, Nolan fires! The beast is enraged and charges!

Despite 3 hits, the 10 tons monster advances fast...

... and crushes Nolan like a nuts.

The hunters gave the chase but the triceratops fled these noisy little things.

After having buried Sir Edward Nolan, the hunters got back to Mission St Mary to rest and drink whisky in memory of their lost friend.
